Marcella Schiavelli is a celebrated cellist, trained at the "G. Verdi" Conservatory in Milan under Giuseppe Laffranchini and later refined her skills with Rocco Filippini and Salvatore Accardo at prestigious institutions such as the Accademia Chigiana and the "W. Stauffer" Academy. She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in renowned venues worldwide, including Teatro alla Scala, the Lincoln Center, and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.Marcella's collaborations include iconic artists like Carla Fracci, Lorin Maazel, and Salvatore Accardo. A longstanding member of Ensemble Duomo, she tours internationally and performs regularly in Milan’s Teatro Filodrammatici. She plays on a rare early 20th-century Contavalli cello, bringing its unique voice to her distinguished career.

Duo Schiavelli-NicotraSince forming in 2014, cellist Marcella Schiavelli and pianist Gabriel Tancredi Nicotra have delighted audiences with their expressive performances across Italy.Their repertoire spans from Baroque to early 20th-century Russian music, with a focus on Romantic masterpieces by Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, and Franck.They also perform intimate lieder transcriptions by Schubert and Schumann, offering programs that resonate with diverse audiences.
